• Rodney SKEET Curtis

    Rodney 'Skeet ' Curtis is a funkadelic powerhouse. His playing incorporates elements of funk, R&B , and jazz into an unmistakable style. Born in Baltimore in 1956, Rodney ‘Skeet ‘ Curtis has played with P-Funk since 1977. Prior to joining P-Funk, he played with local bands in Baltimore. Projects include recordings with the Firm (featuring Nas, Foxy Brown and AZ) and Dr. Dre. Skeet has played with some of the funkiest bands of all time including The Brides of Funkenstein & George Clinton, the P Funk Allstars, and now with Maceo Parker not to mention numerous television appearances and movies scores.

  • Steve Jenkins

    Steve Jenkins is part of the new wave of modern electric bass players. In addition to his mind-blowing technical prowess, his musicianship has allowed him to fit into a diverse range of musical situations that have run the gambit from face-melting prog-metal to experimental microtonal jazz-funk to dubbed-out electronica bass lines to classic sounding r&b grooves--sometimes all within the framework of one song. Steve is known for his beyond solid groove, creative use of cutting-edge effects and textures, melodic/virtuosic solos, and mastery of different tones and techniques for any given musical situation. As a sideman, he has toured, performed, or recorded with the likes of: Vernon Reid, Screaming Headless Torsos, David Fiuczynski, Stimpy Lockjaw, Alex Skolnick, Josh Smith, Thomas Pridgen, Victor Wooten, Javier Reyes, Keith Carlock, Cindy Blackman Santana, Gene Lake as well as many others.

  • Jamil Soto

    Jamil graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2019, and has not looked back since. Soto is a true visionary and creative. His talents extend far beyond music, including composinf film and T.V. His multimedia work has allowed him to blossom in an all around artist that is showing across all of his work. Jamil has performed at top venues, clubs, and even universities in his early career. We are confident and excited for Jamil’s future here at Brubaker Guitars.

With a career spent touring alongside artists including Hugh Masekela, the Grateful Dead, Sting, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Gloria Estefan, Derek Trucks, Miriam Makeba, and many others, his abilities extend to his solo work as a singer, percussionist, pianist and songwriter—in addition to his bass playing—presenting a culmination of diverse influences from throughout his life.

    David Pastorius is an American bass guitarist born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, residing in Melbourne, Florida. Pastorius has played in numerous bands in the Florida region, has toured across the United States with various artists such as Tech N9ne and Pat Travers, appeared in a number of bass guitar-related magazines and has released and appeared on several studio albums.

  • Butch Coleman

    Butch was a singer in the “The Dynamite Five”. He was fortunate enough to have Rodney “Skeet” Curtis (Parliament Funkadelic, Brides of Funkenstein, Maceo Parker) teach him how to lay a funk groove. Playing along with, Dennis Chambers afforded him the opportunity to include him on Independent Smooth Jazz CD,” Night Sketches“ along with his wife keyboardist/vocalist, Rhonda Coleman which was well received on the Smooth Jazz Charts in 2014 and throughout the world. He played Bass on “Break Free”, a song recorded by Commited, winners of NBC’s music completion show, The Sing Off. He also played bass on recording artist Jessie J’s singles, “Price Tag”(which reached number # 1 on the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand charts) and “Abracadabra”.

    Booker King, an extremely accomplished and highly sought after bassist and composer who has toured the world laying down thunderous grooves across multiple genres of music. His resume features recordings and performances with Santana, Paul Simon, Angelique Kidjo, Billy Cobham, Jane Siberry, Defunkt Big Band, Yoko Kanno, Corey Glover, Dean Brown, Mary Wilson, Stephanie Mills, Bill Sims and the American Roots Orchestra, Femi Kuti, Bobby Caldwell, Lila Downs among others.

  • Kevin Walker

    Kevin has performed with Wilson Pickett, Patti LaBelle, Jodeci, Regina Belle, Pieces of a Dream, Najee, Angela Bofill, Tevon Campbell, Aaliyah, Marion Meadows, Justin Timberlake, Prince, Chaka Kahn, Ledisi, Mike Phillips, Jeff Lorber, Brian Culbertson, Candy Dulpher, and the list goes on and on. One of his biggest musical thrills was playing for the first time with Prince at a party after a Madison Square Garden gig.

  • Marcus Vann

    Currently based in Los Angeles, Marcus is also a veteran of both the Seattle and Las Vegas music scenes. Marcus has played with a diverse list of artists such as Paul Schaffer (Late Night with David Letterman), The Righteous Brothers, Stephen “Doc” Kupka (Tower of Power), Native Language recording artist Jeff Kashiwa, and international recording star Lani Misalucha, among many others.He has toured internationally with the Broadway show “Jersey Boys”; performed in featured bands on the ABC, TBS, MTV, and BBC networks, and performed feature shows with symphonies across the U.S. and Canada. Marcus performed regularly at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

    Shaun performs internationally and has shared the stage with Lalah Hathaway, Corinne Bailey Rae, Andra Day, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, blues legend Robert Cray, reggae royalty Aston Barrett and The Wailers (Bob Marley’s band), country music star Collin Raye, Devon Allman, Yonrico Scott of the Royal Southern Brotherhood and the band Kansas.

  • Walt Finnerty

    Bassist for Christian Smooth Jazz Recording Artist Michelle Danette and Remnant Sounds Band and holds the Bass Chair in the Platinum Sounds Band from PA.     JC currently plays bass and is a vocalist for "DREAMKILLER". Jason Cornwell (Boston Bassman), is most known for playing in "Mr. Big’s Eric Martin" as well as countless tours with bands such as "Dokken".

  • Nick Taylor

    He studied at the New Zealand School of Music, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree specializing in Jazz Performance on electric bass, upright bass and trombone. Since graduation, Nick has been associated with international bands such as the Andrea Lisa Band, Tahuna Breaks, dDub and the Rodger Fox Big Band. He has also been a member of the Auckland Jazz Orchestra, Queen City Big Band and the New Zealand School of Music Big Band.

  • John Irvine

    One of the most exciting bass players out of Canada is Ottawa native John Irvine. Having played professionally since the age of twelve, his credits include working for Capitol and RCA Records with such diverse artists as Ronnie Hawkins and Liberty Silver.John is also an innovator with effects, John has designed pedals for Zoom Sound Laboratory and recorded with EDM superstar Deadmau5.

  • Crystal Fawn

    Crystal is the bassist for Snakebite and Rock of ABBA. She began her bass studies at the Players School in Clearwater Tampa with Jeff Berlin. She has jammed with Bumblefoot & Guthrie Govan, and has performed on stage with jazz legend Ira Sullivan, Sinbad, Marco Mendoza, Kip Winger & Lita Ford, and has played on the same bill as Mike Tramp (White Lion), Pat Travers, Puddle of Mudd, Quiet Riot and LA Guns.

  • Jan Holberg

    Jan E. Holberg has a BA in Music from LIPA where he studied from 1998 - 2001. He has been touring and recording with artist such as Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow,Deep Purple), Gulli Briem (Mezzoforte) and Eythor Gunnarsson (Mezzoforte). In 2011 he released his first solo album called "Sense of Time" on Nordic Records. The album contains 10 songs written by Jan, and as the lead singer you will find Joe Lynn Turner, The album was recorded in Reykjavik, Iceland, with participation of some of Europe's finest musicians, with Jan handling the bass.

  • Bob Bartram

    Bob Bartram is a bassist from Baltimore, Md. who was an original member of Several Species. He played for them for 17 years before leaving to pursue other projects. In 2021 he rejoined the band. Bob is an endorsed artist for Brubaker Guitars. He plays a KXB-5 Custom bass and a JXB-5 Custom fretless bass for this band.
